Coach Bruce Myers Leaves NC A&T Tennis High and Dry

Coach Bruce Myers exhibits a lack of Professional behavior

After less than a year and only three weeks as NC A&T head coach for 2014-15 season Bruce Myers resigns his post.  This was a shock for NC A&T players because Myers did not give the teams or University officials  any notice.  He basically left a letter and keys. “This guy is a bum”  Said one tennis player’s parent. You wonder if Myers was just using his position with NC A&T as a step up the tennis coaching ladder.  This was his 2nd head coaching job and prior to that he was the Head coach of Randolph-Macon a small college in Virginia where he only stayed one year after being named the first full-time head coach in the schools history.

After getting National recognition by Tennis Recruiting for his recruiting class this year all of the players were abandoned as he took a new position as Head coach for Longwood University located in Virginia. Myers left the team one week before their first match at Elon Invitational and 2 weeks before the HBCU Tournament. Parents who met Myers said that he gave no indication that he was unhappy or looking to make a change.  The players are basically in shock as he did not explain or disclose to them that he was leaving.  “Hopefully Longwood will not be the recipient of this erratic and unprofessional behavior exhibited by Myers ” Said a tennis player’s parent.

NC A&T is now searching for an interim to fill Myers spot and will begin searching for a permanent coach in the spring.

Good luck NC A&T on the search for a new more competent coach.
